From "The Chaos" to Compliance on Demand

How HeitechSoft used AI to help Pressure IQ take a vision to market quickly, affordably, and without losing the rigour the industry demands.

Client: Pressure IQ · Industry: Manufacturing & Industrial Compliance (pressure-vessel fabrication) · Project Type: AI-Enabled Custom Software (SaaS Platform), MVP / Startup Build · Region: Ontario, Canada

At a Glance

Pressure IQ founder Dylan Filiatrault had a clear vision: replace the email threads, shared drives, and paper binders that pressure-vessel shops live with, and give everyone a single, trustworthy place to work from.

What he needed was a partner who could turn that vision into something real without burning through his capital. HeitechSoft used AI on both sides of the work. We used it to accelerate the build itself, and we put it at the heart of the product. That combination let Dylan reach the market in a fraction of the usual time and cost, with a platform that does real work for its users from day one.

The result is a platform where work that used to take weeks now takes minutes, where problems get caught early instead of at the worst possible moment, and where the founder behind it got to market lean and has something solid to keep building on.

They really took the time to understand what I was trying to do, and helped figure out the best way to make it happen.

Dylan Filiatrault, Founder, Pressure IQ

The Client & The Vision

Pressure IQ is building Vessel Vault, a platform for the companies that design, fabricate, and inspect pressure vessels. These are highly regulated products, and the paperwork that proves a vessel is safe and compliant is as important as the steel itself.

Dylan's vision was simple to describe and hard to deliver: bring manufacturers, owners, and inspectors into one shared workspace, so everyone is working from the same up-to-date information across a vessel's entire life.

When Dylan first came to us, he had the beginning of an idea and a strong sense of the impact he wanted to make. Like a lot of founders, his real challenge was not spotting the opportunity. It was turning that opportunity into something practical and dependable without spending years and a fortune to find out if it would work.

The Challenge: "The Chaos"

In this industry, a single vessel can generate dozens of critical documents over its lifetime, and every one of them has to be findable, correct, and trustworthy when an auditor or inspector asks for it.

In most shops, those documents are scattered. Some sit in email. Some live on a shared drive. Some are on an inspector's laptop, and some are in a filing cabinet. Pressure IQ had a name for the result: "The Chaos." And it costs real money and time:

  • Audit prep that drags on for weeks, because assembling the full record means hunting for the right version of the right document in half a dozen places.
  • Problems found too late, when an inspector opens the binder, rather than when the document first came in and the issue could still be fixed cheaply.
  • Access that is hard to control, when outside inspectors and suppliers need to see some things but never another customer's work.
  • No easy way to prove nothing has been changed, which is exactly what regulators want to know.
  • Know-how trapped in people's heads, so the business depends on a handful of senior staff remembering what matters.

The cost shows up as rejected audits, rework, late shipments, and skilled people spending their time chasing paper instead of doing the work only they can do.

The real risk

Dylan had already built early prototypes that proved the idea worked. But the closer he got to the realities of compliance, the clearer it became that the project needed more than fast software. It needed a foundation built by people who understood the industry, so that what got built would actually hold up when it counted, and it needed to get there without a runaway budget.

That is exactly where the right partner makes the difference.

The Approach: AI-Powered, Founder-Friendly

The best products do not start with software. They start with a problem worth solving and someone with a vision for how things could work better. So we started by understanding people first.

Understanding comes before building. The goal is never just to develop software. It is to help founders create solutions that solve real problems and support real growth.

AI that kept the build lean

This is where a modern, AI-accelerated approach changed the economics for Dylan. Instead of a large team and a long timeline, we used AI throughout our own development process to design, build, and refine the platform far faster than traditional methods allow. For a founder, that translates directly into the thing that matters most early on: getting a real, working product in front of customers while keeping cash burn low. Dylan did not have to raise a war chest or bet years of his life to find out whether the vision had legs.

A way of working built around a founder's life

Dylan was building this while holding down a full-time role. A standard nine-to-five development schedule would have forced him to take time off work just to keep things moving. So we designed the engagement around his reality instead.

During the day, our team did the heavy lifting and prepared clear, well-thought-out options. In short evening sessions, Dylan's only job was to make decisions: "Here are two ways to handle this. One is safer, one is faster. Which fits your business?" His limited time became an advantage rather than a bottleneck, and he spent it on the calls only he could make.

Deep industry experience he could lean on

Speed only counts if what you build is correct. Welding and pressure-vessel compliance is unforgiving, and a generalist team would have spent Dylan's budget learning the basics. HeitechSoft did not have to. Our roots run deep in this exact field, including years of work with the CWB Group, where we architected the core application the organization relied on for well over a decade.

That background meant we already understood welding compliance, the certification lifecycle, and the documents that carry it. Dylan never had to stop and explain his own industry to us, so more of his time and money went straight into moving the product forward, and the platform was built right the first time.

It's clear they genuinely want to work together to bring the vision to life.

What We Built: AI at the Core

We delivered Vessel Vault in deliberate stages, each one building on the last. This was a sustained partnership, not a hand-off. AI is not a bolt-on feature here. It is woven into how the product works every day. In plain terms, the platform now lets Pressure IQ's customers:

  • Let AI read and sort incoming documents, pulling the important details out automatically instead of relying on someone to key them in by hand.
  • Catch missing or incorrect documents the moment they arrive, with a clear, AI-generated explanation in plain language of what is wrong, while it is still cheap to fix.
  • Ask plain-English questions and get trustworthy answers, using a built-in AI assistant that only ever shows each person what they are allowed to see.
  • Snap a photo of a vessel nameplate in the field and have the system clean up the image, recognize the vessel, and show what paperwork is still missing.
  • Keep everything for a vessel in one organized place, instead of spread across inboxes, drives, and cabinets.
  • Generate a complete, audit-ready record on demand, in the order auditors expect, in minutes rather than weeks.
  • Give inspectors and suppliers exactly the access they need and nothing more, and prove that records have not been quietly changed.

Results

The payoff was not just technical. It changed the economics of the venture and how the business runs day to day.

  • A vision reached the market lean. AI-accelerated development took Dylan from early idea to a real, working platform quickly and with minimal cash burn, exactly what an early-stage founder needs.
  • Audit prep dropped from weeks to minutes. A complete, audit-ready record is assembled on demand, in the order auditors expect.
  • Problems now surface early, not late, while they are still inexpensive to fix.
  • One source of truth replaced the scramble. Every action is traceable and nothing goes missing.
  • Inspectors and suppliers serve themselves safely, freeing up skilled staff.
  • Compliance became something the business can prove, on demand, with confidence.
  • The know-how lives in the system, not just in a few people's heads, so the business is far easier to scale.

In the Founder's Words

Working with HeitechSoft has been awesome. They delivered everything on time and on budget, and it's clear they genuinely want to work together to bring the vision to life. They're super responsive, know their stuff, and made the whole process way easier than I expected. Because of their support, we've got something solid to build on, and we're ready to keep pushing forward to create something great.

Dylan Filiatrault, Founder, Pressure IQ

What we value most in that feedback is the sense of partnership behind it. Technology should never feel like a hand-off. It should feel like working with someone who is genuinely on your side.

What's Next

The platform live today is a foundation, not a finish line. There is already a clear roadmap for where Pressure IQ goes from here, and we are excited to keep building it alongside Dylan.

We're just getting started.
