Why Kitchener businesses call us
Kitchener's economy doesn't look much like its headlines. Alongside the
software companies there's a deep base of manufacturers, mechanical and
electrical trades, distributors, insurance brokerages, and professional
firms. Most of them run on the same stack: an ERP nobody loves, a
scheduling system bought a decade ago, a set of spreadsheets holding the
gaps together, and two or three people who know where everything is.
That is the situation AI is genuinely good at — and not in the way the
vendors describe it. It isn't about replacing the people who know where
everything is. It's about giving them back the hours they lose to
retyping data between systems, chasing an approval that's sitting in
someone's inbox, rebuilding the same month-end report by hand, and
reading a twelve-page document to extract four fields.
We're local enough to show up
Our office is in Cambridge, roughly twenty minutes from downtown
Kitchener. We've been building software for Ontario businesses since
2004, we're part of the KW Chamber of Commerce and the Communitech
network, and our founder did his degree at the University of Waterloo.
None of that is why you should hire us. It matters only because it means
we'll drive out, walk your floor, and watch how the work actually gets
done before we recommend anything — which is the part most firms skip.
What we won't do
We won't sell you an AI strategy deck. We won't put a chatbot on your
website and call it a transformation. And we won't start with the
technology. If we look at your operation and conclude the
highest-return move is repairing a broken integration, replacing a
manual export with a scheduled job, or retiring a step that stopped
being necessary in 2019 — no model involved — that's what we'll tell
you, even though it's a smaller engagement for us.
Two decades in, we've developed a reasonably good sense for the
difference between technology that earns its place and technology that
just demos well. Most of the value we add is in telling you which is
which before you've spent anything.
Who this works for
We work best with established businesses — companies with real
operations, real revenue, and enough process history that the
inefficiencies are visible. If you're pre-revenue and looking to build
an AI product from scratch, we can help, but our
proof-of-concept work is a better starting
point than this page. If you have twenty or two hundred people, systems
that don't talk to each other, and a nagging sense that a meaningful
share of the week is being spent on work a computer should be doing,
that's exactly the conversation we want.
